Welcome
Many men, once they have retired, miss the stimulation and company of work, not to mention the frequent cups of tea or coffee. The Ebor Probus Club of York came into existence in 1975 to provide a thought-provoking meeting point for men who had retired from a business or profession, where something of interest could be learnt while making friends with others in similar circumstances.
The Club meetings provide an opportunity to socialise over a cup of tea or coffee for an hour, followed by a further hour when we have speakers on a wide variety of subjects. The club has an annual subscription of £15.00.
Occasional events such as trips to places of interest, a four-day holiday and a Christmas Lunch are organised, to which partners and friends are invited.
Although there is a ceiling on our membership of 80, we currently have some 75 members with an average attendance of 50 to 60 at each meeting.
Our current programme is shown (See Programme), but if you are interested in finding out more about our activities, the best way is to come along to one of our meetings. This will give you a chance to meet our members, without any commitment. Just give our Secretary, Geoffrey Gedddes, a call on 07792 287 212, complete the Contact page or email to geddes01@globalnet.co.uk to say you would like to attend and we will know when to expect you.
